The shirt is the Nike home design PSG wore in 2022-23, the season Mbappé became the club's all-time leading scorer. He passed that mark in March 2023 with his 201st goal for the club, scored 29 Ligue 1 goals as PSG won a record 11th league title, and finished as Ligue 1's top scorer for the fifth season in a row.

Mbappé joined PSG from Monaco in 2017 and won six Ligue 1 titles with the club before joining Real Madrid in 2024. For France he won the 2018 World Cup, named the tournament's Best Young Player after scoring in the final, and in the 2022 World Cup final he scored a hat-trick and took the Golden Boot. He has captained France since March 2023.
